SOJOURNERS' TRAVEL EXPERIENCE
Continuing
Series: AFRICA HAS THE MAGIC TOUCH
WHEN IT COMES TO FAMILY TRAVEL

Captivated by the land, sky and
living creatures-
Families are able to appreciate the amazing moments of an African
sojourn together.
Don Houser and his family visited southern Africa in June, taking in
the sights of Victoria Falls, the Chobe
National Park area, Ichobezi
Houseboat, and Johannesburg.
Terri Houser recounts:
"...we were headed toward the banks of the Chobe and as we approached
in our jeep, so did a herd of elephants. We were driving down the trail
when a mother elephant took a stance against our vehicle and wouldn't
let us pass. Our driver remained calm, and began to rev the
engine. She still wouldn't let us pass. This went on for a few
minutes, until she finally backed down. Our guide said that he
expected her to back down a bit sooner. Phew! We were able to go safely
on our way."

first experience in Africa with her
family, continue reading.

RESPONSIBLE SOJOURNER

Startling
News: Lions May Cease to Exist Past
2050
National
Geographic Explorers-in-Residence Dereck and Beverly Joubert recently
gave a presentation in Washington, DC where we heard them share the startling
predictions about the plight of Africa's
big cats. Their amazing career of filming and researching in Africa has spanned 25 years. Their mission
is the conservation and understanding of the large predators,
specifically, lions, cheetahs and leopards. At the presentation,
Dereck expressed great concern that it may be well before 2050 that we
will no longer see lions roaming in Africa.
It is hard to imagine such a reality-- we will be tracking this story
and will share more in upcoming newsletters and on our blog. Learn more
about the Jouberts and their work.

THE REAL
DEAL ON TRAVEL DEALS
We are always seeking out the best
values for our clients, whether it be for a $12,000 per person budget
or a $4,000 budget. So why don't we advertise more travel
incentives from suppliers looking to survive through this rocky
economy?
Truth
is, every time we design an itinerary for you we take into consideration
the value of each component and the various specials being
offered. Anytime it adds value to your experience, we will use
special offerings. In general, with demand being so high for the
select and intimate camps/lodges that we use, specials are limited and
typically based on traveling during "off season" and using
multiple properties by the same company. With the current
economic situation, some additional specials are on offer, primarily
based on long stays and traveling within limited travel periods.
Those who can travel on short notice, in the low and shoulder seasons
and are very flexible with their travel dates will benefit the most
from the current price offerings.
Rest assured that we are always seeking out value for money, are tuned
in to special offerings and will always take advantage of offerings
that will enhance your travel experience.
